Our Story

👋 We’re Berkley — a family-owned packaging company built on hustle, heart, and a deep understanding of what brands need to win at retail.

It Started with a Father and Son

Berkley was founded in 2012 by Jeff and Eric Berkley — a father-son duo who believed packaging could be smarter, more sustainable, and better executed.

Jeff brought decades of industry experience, having previously led Conceptual Design Industries (later Packaging Plus), a 250,000 sq ft manufacturing and contract packaging powerhouse based in La Mirada, CA. After selling the business in 2000 to focus on family, he wasn’t planning to jump back in—until Eric had an idea.

While still a senior at the University of Denver, Eric approached Jeff about starting something new: a packaging company rooted in sustainability, focused on molded fiber (molded pulp) and eco-friendly materials. They bought their first machine in 2013 and leased a 50,000 sq ft facility in Carson, CA.

Growth Fueled by Purpose

What started as a molded fiber startup quickly evolved. As customer needs grew, so did we — expanding into full-service packaging design, manufacturing, and assembly with a sharp focus on retail displays and club store programs.

We opened our first satellite office in San Diego in 2015, followed by Napa Valley and Bentonville, AR in 2016. In 2022, we launched a cutting-edge Design Center in Rogers, Arkansas featuring in-house digital print capabilities.

In 2024, we acquired a corrugated sheet plant in Southern Illinois, expanding our manufacturing footprint and capabilities even further.

Who We Are Today

Today, Berkley is a coast-to-coast operation, but still proudly family-owned and operated. We design, manufacture, and assemble high-impact custom packaging and displays for the world’s leading retailers — from Costco and Sam’s Club to Walmart and beyond.

We believe great packaging tells a story. And ours is just getting started.
